Crkvi pripada svakako i jedan od najstarijih spomenika Beča, Marijin stup na trgu Am Hof.[1] Trg Am Hof ima svoju dugu povijest. Još u rimsko vrijeme za Marka Aurelija bio je u sklopu turnirskog prostora. Svoje ime nosi po Babenbergerima, po H. Jasomirgottu koji je tu podigao svoju pa- laču davši joj ima Am MeierHOF der Babenberger. U 14. stoljeću se je ovdje tržnica vinima, ribama i rakovima i ostalim. 1490. održan je ovdje turnir kojem je bio nazočan i kralj Matija Korvin. Na trgu su se obavljala i javna smaknuća: 1463. gradonačelnika Holzera; 1595. kraljevskog pukovnika Ferdinanda, grofa od Hardegga radi predaje Turcima tvrđave Raab; 1600. kapetana Lorenza von Schakneya; 1601. zapovjednika od Kaschaua, Georga, grofa od Paradaysera radi vojničke nevjere. Na trgu je od 1529. do pred 1. svjetski rat bila i papinska nuncijatura. 1683. nakon pobjede nad Turcima na Kahlenbergu, s trga se krenulo u crkvu na prvi «Te deum» u znak zahvale. I danas se na trgu odvijaju mnoge svečanosti od kojih su neke tradicionalne.
U najljućoj nevolji rata protiv Šveđana, zavjetovao se kralj Ferdinand II. sa svim svojim staležima Majci Božjoj, i za tu zgodu dao postaviti 1645. na svakodnevnu pobožnost stup s kipom Bezgrješne. Nakon čudesnog uslišanja molitava, postavio je Ferdinand III. 18. 03. 1647. na mramorni stup kip Bezgrješne. 20 se proslavila 8. prosinca 1661. i na njoj je Leopold I. obnovio posvetu Austrije Bezgrješnoj, te se od tada taj dan slavi kao svetkovina u Austriji.
